Nyongkolang Sasak indigenous culture on the island Lombok | The Daily Roar

Nyongkolang are an indigenous Sasak (Sasak = name of a local tribe on the island of Lombok) culture and they growed up only in the province of West Nusa Tenggara situated on the island of Lombok, Indonesia. Nyongkolang also can be considered as a lifestyle on the island of Lombok Sasak tribe. The Nyongkolang cultural custom event (wedding ceremony) is done only for the bride and groom or the couple who just got married. So pickles Nyongkolang is implemented as an act of gratitude and a festive party for the bride and groom. But keep in mind that the Nyongkolang event is not merely a party just to spend money or show possessions, food and more.
But pickles Nyongkolang cultural customs that has special meaning through cultural customs.

Nyongkolang pickles (solemnization of the marriage) can strengthen the inner “Friendship relation” between the wife’s family and her husband.
